
Cheese appreciates music like we do
‘Cheese in Surround Sound’
A culinary art experiment was conducted by Bern University of the Arts in 2019, titled ‘Cheese in Surround Sound’ and saw eight cheeses maturing under exposure to a different sound over six-and-a-half months. Food technologists and culinary jurors conducted a blind taste test and viola! Music-infused cheese had a generally milder flavour (compared to the control). Cheese exposed to hip hop had a stronger smell and stronger, fruitier taste.
