Justine Clarke on music licences for childcare services

The children's music songwriter, performer, and ABC icon talks about the importance of licensing your childcare service with OneMusic.

ARIA-Award winning children's music songwriter, children's book author and Play School presenter Justine Clarke knows all too well the importance of making sure that creators are paid properly for their art. She joined OneMusic Australia to discuss a few reasons why it's imperative that childcare services are correctly licensed with OneMusic Australia.

Justine Clarke on the importance of music licences for childcare services

In the video, Justine states "I don’t know about you, but I can’t imagine a world without music to listen to, books to read and art to cherish." Firstly, she talks about how music and art themselves are important to childcare services, helping with naptime, movement classes, end-of-year concerts and art-based activities.
She brings to light that copyright protection for artists has been around a long time, but that it's something that is not widely known. The easiest way get permission to use great music, not to mention copying books and art, is through an annual OneMusic Australia licence. The licence fee is dependent on how many licensed venues you have, and the annual fee goes directly to the music creators!
And of course, the best thing to do is always to set an example for the little creators of tomorrow, by doing the right thing for the creators of today!

We also have a fantastic free downloadable colour poster available for early childhood education services, which provides an illustrated step by step guide to dance moves alongside the educative meaning behind the musical moves.
